Cheese Pakoras


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, grated cheese, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  • Gradually add water to the mixture and make a thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry the pakoras in batches, but don't overcrowd the pan
  • Fry the pakoras until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove them using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve the cheese pakoras hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
